Tamil modern Literature – A Snap Shot
It’s the review attempt to tear off the fake screen which
imaging as the existence of only shallow works in the sub-continent literature particularly
in the post-modern genre.
The internal politics of the state and inadequate promotion
by translation of master works in our state cause’s ignorance of superlative
works from many loftiest creators.
Particularly in the Tamil state, after the Indian Freedom
the era of post-modernization has plenty of contributors, of which most of them
unnoticed yet. The increasing rate of ignorance of reading habit can be the
crucial reason for the isolated scenario of Tamil works.
Freedom fight of LTTE played vital role in lifting its
image, the icons from the eelam visualized our heritage and modernization
through numerous verses, fictions and poems mostly focusing the destruction,
politics, rape, genocide ( which records in world History ) Dominic Jeeva would
witness the age of this era. Even JK, SU.RA, Nagulan and many post-modern
activists paved the way for the healthy environment. Perhaps, the contemporary
literature could not multiply its readers with the deliberate cultural changes
in this state.
The outrageous & mass glamour over cinema, cricket,
television, Dravidian politics (which misused by some politicians) resulted
that keep the Tamils far away from other languages and reading habit too.
Whereas the writers hatching their large number of literary works without
making any remarkable business. That’s the brief reason why I am urging these
readers to enhance their values of the Tamil literature.
Emergency action needed to change this environment, by
translating our master pieces in European languages, honest appreciation and
reviews, promotions, opinions which interacts common with the literature.
Review
“Train Runs Inside The Apple”
A modern poetry pastiche written by Iyyappa Madhavan
(emerging poet), where the poet self attested in his introduction as his
writings are much influenced by the unsecured political environments. He added
that love and lust are the subjects given to him by the thankful society. But
his admission failed from the very first poem in which he portrayed the divine
relationship between a girl and her mirror image. The very image witnessed the
childlike poet clearly.
As said earlier, pastiche work – means a rumble of beads in
various color, theme and subject synchronized with the medley called love. Yes,
the compassionate unconditional love stitched naturally in all the verses. The
poet love is purely unconditional, that’s the reason for an umbrella’s survival
with the penny of 30.
He contradicts himself through his poems, because his love
shows fulfillness as well as emptiness. Here the chaos uses to come, until you
travel some meters in Zen. One who crosses the worldly duos can celebrate the
Zen as this poet did in this book. In a poem,
he confessed that he prayed only for her touch he ignores
the celestial objects, even he well know about its designs. Thus he broken or
tied the duo emptiness and fulfillness.
The travel with the poet is quite adventurous, one moment
you travel in the dusty Gemini bridge of Chennai; in another time he sees Buddha
in a women’s dressy tops, some time having conversation with the moon; some
time describing the infant’s state in front of her suicide mother; In one stage
he change his lover as angel and fell in her hands as baby. Now I feel like
jumping from mountain to valley and vice versa.
The much blooming scene we can find in the poem,” Train Runs
Inside The Apple”, where poet sophisticated his travel in train by using an
Apple which luckily traveled with him. Meanwhile he shows his orthodox identity
while narrating the adolescence / puberty
The cliché’s are there you can’t reckon it, you will
celebrate it. You may see many magic realism throughout the book, but you can
not escape from the existentialism ( in the poem of Kavitha’s Face, The door
seller). Nihilism is the exact station where you can identify this tremendous
philosophical train get halted.
This could be his masterpiece because this poet flattered in
a steep drench of love with the girl who loved and he cannot able to escape.
Last but not least: - If
the stratosphere of the Tamil modern literature can be tuned to overseas
radios if such a promotion and translation frequently done for this kind of
good and finest masterpieces.
( Hope the book shall be translate in other languages in short)
