Story about Parvathamalai
Lot of stories are believed about this hills.
1.The hill ranges look like a spread hair of women, in tamizh we called as (jadai). It says that hill is denoted as 'amma' -paarvathi (a goddess),where thiruannamalai is 'Appa'- lord Shiva. It is very special to get darshana in two lingams in same day
2.The Siddhas have spoken volumes about Pancha Nathana Nataraja. They say that this deity is such a rarity in the Universe that even the Devas would give anything just for the chance of worshipping him. They say that on the Nataraja Abisheka days which occur in certain Tamil months (Chitra, Aani, Aavani, Purattaasi, Margazhi and Maasi), the Devas perform their worship to this deity in subtle form. This kind of worship is similar to the sookshma worship done by the Devas at the peak of the Arunachala Hill and on the Parvathamalai Hill
3.It is also believed that devas and siddhas are worshipping Lord Mallikarjunaswamy every night here and so is a very auspicious hill.Parvathamalai is belived to have powerful vibrations from the religious point of view.
4.It is believed that Parvathamalai is formed when a piece of rock fell from Sanjeevi hill when Lord Anjaneya was carrying it and this has seven folds.
Its called as Sanjeeva Parvathamalai. The breeze with herbal scent coming from this hill heels all the incurable diseases.
